Dr. Yasmine Sassa


Hi there!

I am the owner and administrator of Photoemission.se. My name is Yasmine Sassa and I am currently working as an Assist. Professor at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden.

I conduct research on correlated electron systems e.g. Mott insulators, superconductors and frustrated/quantum magnetism. In my experimental work I use synchrotron techniques (e.g. angle-resolved photoemission, ARPES), neutron scattering (diffraction and inelastic neutron scattering), muon spin rotation and time-resolved laser spectroscopy. In parallel I also perform band structure calculations using the WIEN2k and KKR methods. Finally, I am also growing both thin film and bulk samples using pulsed laser deposition and other techniques.
